The case is specific: a master-data entity of more than a million rows, rarely written and constantly read, where the read-heavy shape is what makes caching worth the complexity rather than a general performance wish. Walks through integrating [cds-caching](artifact:cds-caching) into that application and what it changed.","short":"Account of caching a million-row master-data entity with cds-caching","author":"NaveenChandar","published":"2025-03-04","sources":[{"url":"https://community.sap.com/t5/technology-blog-posts-by-members/performance-boost-and-caching-strategy-for-faster-data-access-using-quot/ba-p/14031045","title":"Performance Boost and Caching Strategy for Faster Data Access using \"cds-caching\" in SAP CAP — SAP Community","checked":"2026-09-07"}],"provenance":{"discovered_via":[{"source":"source:sap-community","channel":"cap-tag"}],"first_seen":"2026-09-07"},"drafted_with_ai":true,"published_on":"source:sap-community","history":[{"date":"2026-10-17","field":"explains","from":null,"to":"applies_to on capability:caching","reason":"Door scope derived from the artifacts this piece also explains, so a door page lists it only where it holds (docs/concepts/content-on-doors.md)."}]},"readings":{"liveness":[{"label":"Checked against the source","tier":"unknown","evidence":"nobody has checked it"},{"label":"Source reachable","tier":"unknown","evidence":"not crawled"},{"label":"Age","tier":"fair","evidence":"published 19 months ago"}],"compatibility":[{"label":"Version","tier":"unknown","evidence":"no version declared"},{"label":"Moved since?","tier":"poor","evidence":"cds-caching 0.3.0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 since publication"},{"label":"Findings","tier":"good","evidence":"none flagged"}],"reach":[{"value":3417,"unit":"views"},{"value":2,"unit":"comments"},{"value":3,"unit":"likes"}]},"signals":{"views":3417,"likes":3,"comments":2,"metrics_at":"2026-10-25"},"series":null,"edges":{"authors":[]}}
