SAP Developer New, July 3rd 2026SAP Developer New, July 3rd 2026A "Did You Know" segment in this SAP Developer News video walks through schema evolution: CAP's ability to add a new field to an entity, or make a compatible change to an existing one, then redeploy the model with no data loss or manual migration. The rest of the July 2026 episode covers that month's Developer Challenge, a SAP HANA Cloud Q2 release announcement and a UI5 survey call, none explained in substance here.published 2026-07-02

Build BTP CAP App with Fiori Integration – Part 2: Implementing End to End AppBuild BTP CAP App with Fiori Integration – Part 2: Implementing End to End AppThe implementation half of the series whose first part set up the account and the database: the application itself, end to end.SuryaRamesh, published 2026-04-09
cf-create-app: Create End-to-End apps and deploy to Cloud Foundry in minutescf-create-app: Create End-to-End apps and deploy to Cloud Foundry in minutesA generator from 2020 that goes further than scaffolding — an end-to-end application created and deployed to Cloud Foundry in one run. Predates most of what cds add now does.former_member604013, published 2020-07-29

Generators has changed twice since this was published, most recently in @sap/cds-dk 10.0.3, 2026-07-02. Affects A recipe, Runnable code.
Deploying a CAP Application to SAP Cloud Platform, Kyma runtime & connecting an iOS appDeploying a CAP Application to SAP Cloud Platform, Kyma runtime & connecting an iOS appKyma when it was new on the platform, taken from a CAP application through deployment to a native iOS client on the other end. Written by someone working the mobile side, so the parts about what a device needs from the service are more careful than usual.KRiedelsheimer, published 2020-12-17
From Concept to action: Hands-On with the CAP Operator and the Partner Reference ApplicationFrom Concept to action: Hands-On with the CAP Operator and the Partner Reference ApplicationThe CAP Operator applied to a real application rather than a sample of its own — SAP's Partner Reference Application, taken from plugin integration through containerisation to custom resources. The transition to CRDs is the part that repays attention: it is where the deployment stops being an mta and becomes Kubernetes.ChristianWeiss, published 2026-05-21
Fullstack CAP Application with HANA Cloud (Decoupled Architecture) [Part-4]Fullstack CAP Application with HANA Cloud (Decoupled Architecture) [Part-4]The switch from SQLite to HANA and the first deploy of the back end to Cloud Foundry — the point in the series where the persistence stops being a file and the build starts producing HDI artifacts.sanjucs, published 2026-05-12
Fullstack CAP Application with HANA Cloud (Decoupled Architecture) [Part-4]
Database connectors changed in @sap/cds 10.1.0, 2026-09-07. Affects A recipe.
Fullstack CAP Application with HANA Cloud (Decoupled Architecture) [Part-6]Fullstack CAP Application with HANA Cloud (Decoupled Architecture) [Part-6]The last part: the Fiori application built and deployed into the HTML5 Application Repository, separately from the service it talks to. Opens with a checklist of the five parts before it, which is the clearest statement of what the whole series covers.sanjucs, published 2026-05-14
Kyma Evolution: Transforming SAP Kyma into a tailor-made SaaS Platform for sbs extensionsKyma Evolution: Transforming SAP Kyma into a tailor-made SaaS Platform for sbs extensionsWritten by an extensibility expert building against Cloud ERP under clean core, and it treats Kyma as something to shape rather than to adopt — what has to be added to the runtime before it is a SaaS platform for CAP extensions. The Partner Reference Application post is the hands-on sequel.ChristianWeiss, published 2026-02-03
Part 1: Creating and Deploying a SAP CAP Application with SAP HANA on SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry)Part 1: Creating and Deploying a SAP CAP Application with SAP HANA on SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry)Opens with the observation the whole series rests on — CAP is usually demonstrated locally, and the interesting part starts when it is deployed. Part one of the run that continues into PostgreSQL and Work Zone.yashbhosle789, published 2026-02-25

Part 2: Creating and Deploying a CAP Application with PostgreSQL, Hyperscaler OptionPart 2: Creating and Deploying a CAP Application with PostgreSQL, Hyperscaler OptionThe middle of a series that runs from database to Work Zone: the CAP application from part one pointed at PostgreSQL on the hyperscaler option, and deployed. The service binding and the build are where it spends its time.yashbhosle789, published 2026-03-04

The Future of Continuous Delivery for SAP Cloud SDK and SAP Cloud Application Programming ModelThe Future of Continuous Delivery for SAP Cloud SDK and SAP Cloud Application Programming ModelA direction note on the Continuous Delivery Pipeline that Cloud SDK and CAP projects were expected to start from, written by someone on the inside as its future was being decided. Dated 2020, so read it for what was being weighed rather than for what to run — and as one of the few places the reasoning behind a tooling direction was written down at all.published 2020-11-23

CAP: Consume External Service - Part 1CAP: Consume External Service - Part 1Builds a CAP Node.js service from scratch that consumes the public NorthWind OData V4 service: cds import turns its EDMX metadata into a CSN model under srv/external, and a CatalogService projects Products from it with a custom READ handler that runs the request through cds.connect.to('NorthWind'). Shows the same projection working two ways — against a CSV mocked under srv/external/data with the <service>-<entity>.csv naming the framework expects, then against the real service once credentials.url is added to the CAP configuration and @sap-cloud-sdk/http-client is installed — and defers routing that connection through the Cloud Foundry Destinations service to the next post in the series.published 2020-05-26

UI5ers Buzz #56: New full-stack UI5 sample app featuring CAP + OData V4 + draft modeUI5ers Buzz #56: New full-stack UI5 sample app featuring CAP + OData V4 + draft modeA sample app published as code rather than described — SAPUI5 over a CAP service with OData V4 and draft mode — and the note that it was built on what the team learned from an application written in March 2020 to help the German Foreign Office repatriate citizens. That provenance is unusual and worth keeping.AndreasKunz, published 2020-11-06
