ui5-antares

A SAPUI5 library that generates OData V2 metadata-based dialogs, object pages and value helps with input validation, and wraps OData V2 requests in promises.

Writing an OData V2 create, read, update or delete screen in SAPUI5 by hand means a form, a value help, input checks and ODataModel calls for each entity. This library generates the dialog or object page from the service metadata as a Simple Form or Smart Form, generates value help dialogs, runs user input validation and mandatory checks, and offers promisified OData V2 classes built on sap.ui.model.odata.v2.ODataModel. It covers OData V2 only. It is written in TypeScript and works in SAPUI5 JavaScript and TypeScript apps. An app lists ui5.antares in the libs of its manifest.json, and the package version follows SAPUI5's: its documentation says to ignore the last three digits to get the SAPUI5 version, and npm carries a ui5-<version>-latest dist-tag per release line.

  1. Listed on bestofui5.org and absent from the atlas. The only UI5-door capability that holds a model-bound form and validation is ui5-data-binding; the odata capability lists no UI5 door, so the OData V2 request side has no edge of its own.
