UI5con_2026_MCPApps

Five runnable MCP servers whose tools return a prebuilt UI beside their text result, from plain HTML through UI5 Web Components and UI Integration Cards to a UI5 linter workflow and an ARC-1 transport review.

Each sample registers a ui:// resource, points a tool at it and returns text and structuredContent, so a host with MCP Apps support renders the bundled page in a sandboxed iframe and any other host still shows the text. The model chooses the tool and does not generate the interface. Sample 03 launches @ui5/mcp-server with npx to produce the lint findings, and sample 04 needs a separately configured ARC-1 server for live data, with labelled offline data for rehearsal. Vite bundles each app into one index.html, and the servers run over stdio or Streamable HTTP on Node.js 22.

Generative UIUI5Generative UIcapabilityPutting an interface inside an agent conversation: a tool result or an agent's reply shown as controls a person can work in, where text would have been. Two things go by the name. A prebuilt web UI that an MCP tool points to and the host renders in a sandboxed iframe, which the MCP Apps extension specifies, is selected by the model and not generated by it; a user interface rendered from a stream of JSON objects the agent sends, which the A2UI specification describes, is. Generating an application's source at design time is [generators](capability:generators).

UI5con 2026 MCP Apps Samples

Five runnable samples for learning how MCP tools can return deterministic, interactive UIs. The examples progress from plain HTML to UI5 Web Components, UI Integration Cards, a UI5 linter workflow, and host-orchestrated SAP transport data.

This repository contains the reusable sample code and learning material. Speaker notes, presentation files, editor-specific MCP configuration, generated output, helper scripts, and the original test suite are intentionally not part of this publication copy.
