Joule in SAP Build Code

Joule's generative AI inside SAP Build Code, pitched as "optimized for Java and JavaScript application development": opened from SAP Business Application Studio's activity bar, slash commands generate a CAP data model, services, sample data, business logic and a Fiori elements UI.

SAP Build Code's assistant is opened "from the activity bar" of SAP Business Application Studio and driven by slash commands rather than free-form chat alone: /cap-gen-app scaffolds a whole CAP application — its data model, sample data and business logic — from one prompt; /cap-gen-model and /cap-gen-data split the model and the sample data apart, /cap-edit-data reworks data already there, and /cap-app-logic extends the logic of a project that already exists, with a separate workflow to add an SAP Fiori elements UI on top of the generated service. SAP states the output is not deterministic — "the code might be different every time you trigger the prompt" — and positions SAP Build Code itself as providing "generative AI-based code development with Joule copilot, optimized for Java and JavaScript application development." The ABAP AI capabilities of the same Joule for Developers line answer the equivalent questions inside ADT rather than SAP Business Application Studio.
