Moving from Hub Gateway to Direct S/4HANA OData V4: A Customized Reusable RAP Processing Framework
A generic base class for RAP custom-entity query providers — one implementation of IF_RAP_QUERY_PROVIDER~SELECT, subclassed per entity — lets a service expose ODataODataExposing data and operations through OData, including the service model, metadata and protocol versions clients require. Version differences affect which clients can consume a service and which query features they can use.SAP and community, narrow by design V4 directly from S/4HANA instead of through a separate Gateway Hub. The framework loads entity configuration, extracts the request context, fetches and transforms backend data into the target entity shape, and returns it through the RAP response object, with field mapping and conversion exits left for each subclass to fill in.
