SAP/ui-theme-designer-plugins-for-coding-agents

One plugin that teaches a coding agent the SAP Design System, Fiori design tokens, and which theming parameters a given control actually reads, installed into Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.

Theming fails quietly: a colour set on the wrong parameter looks right in one theme and wrong in the next, and a model has no way to know which parameter a control consumes. This bundles the design-tokens and help skills — guidance on using UI theme designer on BTP, answers about the SAP Design System and the Fiori design tokens, and the mapping from a UI component to the theming parameters it uses, including how a parameter is inherited. It installs as a plugin into Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, with its own command for each, or through the skills command line for an agent that reads neither.

Tasks this contributes to2Beta

Get an agent to follow the SAP Fiori design guidelinesA developer wants the controls, colours and messages an agent writes into a Fiori application to follow SAP's design guidelines, without the guidelines being pasted into the prompt each time.Freestyle, Fiori elements, Web ComponentsCoversthe design tokens, and which theming parameter a given component reads
What it does

Two skills in one plugin. One is about using UI theme designer on BTP; the other answers questions about the SAP Design System and the Fiori design tokens, including parameter inheritance and which theming parameters specific UI components use. That last fact is the one a colour change rests on and the one a control's public API does not state, which is why it sits here rather than in the guidelines skill.

Remaining work

Install it as a plugin in Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, each with its own command, or through the skills command line. Nothing in it compiles or deploys a theme, and it states no UI5 flavor, so whether its parameter mapping reaches the Web Components library as well as SAPUI5 controls was not established.

Restyle a UI5 Web Component without breaking on the next releaseA developer wants an agent to restyle a UI5 Web Component through the surfaces the library documents, rather than reaching into its shadow DOM in a way that stops working when the component changes.Web ComponentsCoverswhich theming parameter a given component actually reads
What it does

Its design-tokens skill carries the SAP Design System and the Fiori design tokens, including parameter inheritance and which theming parameters specific UI components use. A CSS variable override is only as good as knowing which variable the component consumes, and that is the fact this plugin states and a component's public API does not.

Remaining work

Install it as a plugin in Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, each with its own command, or through the skills command line. It states no UI5 flavor of its own, so whether its parameter mapping covers the Web Components library as well as SAPUI5 controls was not established.

UI Theme Designer Plugins for Coding Agents

Contributor Covenant REUSE status

A collection of plugins for coding agents that provide AI coding assistants with knowledge and tooling for working with UI theme designer and the SAP Design System — including SAP Fiori design tokens. Navigate to the plugins in Plugin Overview to learn how to install them.

Plugin Overview

  • UI theme designer – Provides practical guidance and conceptual support for using UI Theme Designer on BTP. It also answers questions about the SAP Design System and SAP Fiori design tokens, including which theming parameters are used by specific UI components.

Requirements

These plugins are designed for AI coding agents such as Claude Code. No additional SAP software installation is required.
