SAP Developers MCP
The hosted MCP server of developers.sap.com, over which an agent searches SAP's tutorials, reads missions and queries the site's knowledge graph of tutorials and concepts.
Gives an agent SAP's own tutorial catalogue to cite instead of what its model remembers, without scraping the site. Each CDS service is mounted on its own path over Streamable HTTP, with no aggregate root: /mcp/search for tutorials and missions, and /mcp/graph for the knowledge graph with tutorial://, mission:// and concept:// resources. Those two are anonymous, read-only and need no key; a signed-in tier under /mcp-auth/* reads and updates the reader's own tutorial progress. It is built on CAP's MCP adapter, and is a different thing from the local MCP that SAP-samples/sap-devs-cliSAP-samples/sap-devs-cliA CLI that injects current SAP developer knowledge packs into an AI coding tool's context and wires up SAP's own MCP servers for it, shipped as a single binary through Homebrew, Scoop or GitHub Releases.sap official, btp ships, as the site's own API page says.

- Bring "developers.sap.com" Into Your Dev Environment: SAP Developer Context for AI Coding AgentsBring "developers.sap.com" Into Your Dev Environment: SAP Developer Context for AI Coding AgentsDevtoberfest 2026 session FA-11: a tour of the rebuilt developers.sap.com by the team that runs it, from the administration screens behind the home page to the agent interfaces in front of it. The site is a CAP application on SAP HANA Cloud and SAP BTP, open-sourced in full, and the half of the session that places it here is how its content reaches an agent: every tutorial is also served as markdown, a coding agent is detected and given that version instead of the HTML, a well-known agent card advertises what the site offers, and SAP Developers MCP answers questions about tutorials, news and a reader's own completion history in Claude Code and Joule Desktop, over OAuth or a personal access token. Behind the answers sit two things working together: a knowledge graph in the HANA database over 1400 tutorials and 11,000 concepts, and SAP AI Core for the Joule interactions and the embeddings, with the agent harness written for the site rather than taken off a shelf. Where neither MCP nor A2A is available, the same content is published as skills.SAP Developers, published 2026-09-25SAP Developers, YouTube — SAP Developers playlists

A tutorial hosting platform for developers.sap.com that replaces both Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and the legacy Java IMS backend. Fetches tutorial markdown from the sap-tutorials GitHub organization at build time, renders static pages with SAP Fundamental Styles (Horizon theme) via Hugo, and deploys on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry behind an AppRouter with XSUAA authentication. The CAP Node.js backend provides progress tracking, event management, and all services previously handled by the Spring Boot IMS application.
Production system replacing AEM tutorial hosting, Git-based authoring interface, and Java IMS backend on developers.sap.com (April 2026).

npm install
npm run fetch-tutorials # Fetch tutorial markdown from GitHub + CAP catalog
cds watch # Start CAP server (http://localhost:4004)
npm run dev # Hugo dev server (separate terminal)
npm run build:all # Full production build
For full setup including hybrid HANA development, environment variables, and the script reference, see docs/developers/getting-started.md.

Environment Variables
Deploy-time variables for the MTA modules (CF env, role collections, secrets) are documented in .deploy/DEPLOY.md. The five most commonly set during local dev:
| Variable | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
CAP_BASE_URL | No (default http://localhost:4004) | CAP srv URL — used by the build pipeline, publish-content, and migration scripts |
GITHUB_TOKEN | No | Avoids GitHub API rate limits when fetching tutorial markdown + commit metadata |
CONTENT_API_KEY | Yes (publish + srv) | Bearer token for POST /content/publish and /content/rollback; required on the srv to accept publish writes |
SUBMISSION_SALT_SECRET | Yes (feedback) | IP-hash salt for /feedback/submit; bridge returns 503 if missing |
IMS_AUTH_TOKEN | Yes (migrate) | Bearer token for the legacy Java IMS API during cutover |

History in the atlas
- NEIGHBOURS §5.1 named the hosted MCP as a companion to index as an artifact, and the graph had no entry for it. ecosystem: umbrella because its content covers SAP technologies across stacks (llms.txt names ABAP Cloud, CAP, Fiori, HANA Cloud and integration) and no single door holds it. No read_only: the anonymous mounts are read-only, but the signed-in tier writes progress (complete_step). No tool_count: the quickstart and the API page list different tools per mount. The site also serves a GraphQL API, not recorded as an interface here for want of a page read. /mcp/homepage is left out of the description: the quickstart lists it as anonymous and the API page as signed-in.
