Mastering Internal Actions in SAP RAP: Automatic Header Calculation in ABAP CloudMastering Internal Actions in SAP RAP: Automatic Header Calculation in ABAP CloudWalks through a sales-order BDEF where an item-level determination triggers a header-only internal action by EML in local mode, so a quantity or price change recalculates the order total and applies a 10% discount above $10,000 without a UI button or external OData call reaching the logic directly. Argues for an internal action over inline determination code on reusability and separation of concerns: a determination decides when logic runs, the action decides what runs, and marking it internal keeps Fiori Elements and external OData clients from invoking it.sharathtm, published 2026-08-06
MCP Server for SAP Incentive ManagementMCP Server for SAP Incentive ManagementA proof of concept putting SAP Incentive Management behind MCP so an agent can reach it, spanning the server, the backing APIs and SAP Advanced Workflow. The post opens with an unusually explicit disclaimer — personal capacity, no organisation's architecture or policies represented, and any real implementation needing customer and SAP review first — which is itself the useful part of reading it: it is a shape to think with, not a design to deploy.published 2026-07-16
MCP Servers are the New Z-TablesMCP Servers are the New Z-TablesA single CAP service exposed as three overlapping MCP servers tools, queried by the same prompt nineteen times, returned the same tool every time — evidence, the author argues, that tool selection rests on the resemblance between a prompt and a tool's description rather than on any binding a where-used list could enumerate before retiring it. It contrasts that setup with @cap-js/mcp, which exposes a whole service as three generic tools instead of one per operation, and quotes the adapter's own beta documentation admitting no rate limiting, audit logging, input validation or approval workflow, and no use as a gateway to SAP Application APIs. From there it names four small Tool governance practices it has adopted: an owner recorded in the tool's own metadata, logging every invocation, deprecating inside the description, and exposing fewer tools.published 2026-08-21
MCP Servers on SAP Integration Suite : Build Your First MCP Server from an APIMCP Servers on SAP Integration Suite : Build Your First MCP Server from an APIWalks through building an MCP server on SAP Integration Suite from an existing managed API — SAP S/4HANA's Purchase Order API — rather than from an HTTP endpoint or an RFC, which the same creation wizard supports but a later post in the series is left to cover. Selected API operations become MCP Tools with generated input and output schemas, the server inherits its Authentication policy from the source API, and a Process Integration Runtime service instance supplies the OAuth credentials an external client needs to invoke it. Ends by connecting the deployed server to Cline in VS Code and having it chain tool calls to answer a natural-language purchase-order query.published 2026-07-15

Merge multiple PDF forms into a single document for download or printing.Merge multiple PDF forms into a single document for download or printing.Faced with bundling several Adobe-Forms-generated PDFs into one file, where FP_JOB_OPEN could not handle the parameters a bundled FP_GET_PDF_TABLE output needed and the forms themselves could not be changed, the author merges the individual PDFs at runtime with the CL_RSPO_PDF_MERGE class instead. Walks through opening the spool job with FP_JOB_OPEN, generating each form via its FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME-resolved function module, adding each result's xstring to the merger with add_document, then calling merge_documents and converting the result for GUI_DOWNLOAD or printing.MiljanDjuric, published 2025-06-17
Message Mapping in SAP Integration Suite - Custom Scripts and Conditional MappingMessage Mapping in SAP Integration Suite - Custom Scripts and Conditional MappingWalks through two ways to extend a message mapping step in SAP Integration Suite's Cloud Integration: a custom Groovy function added in the Mapping Expression editor's Scripts section, and a graphical equals/if node pair built from the standard function library, each suited to logic the other cannot express cleanly. Shows the Simulate tool's Generate button building a test payload from the source structure, then editing individual field values to exercise both the true and false branch of a condition before deployment.jirifridrich, published 2026-04-03

Michael Jackson: AI Cognitive Pipeline on SAP BTP, SAP CAP, ElevenLabs, Claude, HANA DB, SolaceMichael Jackson: AI Cognitive Pipeline on SAP BTP, SAP CAP, ElevenLabs, Claude, HANA DB, SolaceA pipeline that listens to a song, identifies the historical events it references, retrieves knowledge about each and builds an emotional arc across the whole track. Microsoft GRAPH API - Read and extract attachments of Outlook email from Cloud IntegrationMicrosoft GRAPH API - Read and extract attachments of Outlook email from Cloud IntegrationBuilds an integration flow in Cloud Integration that authenticates to the Microsoft Graph API with an OAuth2 Client Credentials credential and an HTTP Receiver Adapter, then calls the Outlook inbox by MessageID to retrieve an email's attachment. A Groovy script using the pdfbox and fontbox libraries extracts the text from a PDF attachment, as an alternative to placing the attachment on SFTP unchanged or fetching the whole message with its attachment through the $value query.ChaithraShanmugam, published 2025-12-09
Microsoft Sentinel for SAP goes agentlessMicrosoft Sentinel for SAP goes agentlessExplains how Microsoft Sentinel for SAP's new agentless data connector drops its Docker-based collector agent by reusing an existing SAP Cloud Connector setup together with SAP Integration Suite: on SAP NetWeaver 750 and later, a small set of RFC function modules must be reachable from Integration Suite, added as an RFC connection in the subaccount's Destinations maintenance view, with a user authorised to call them (RFC connectivity). It also covers calling the audit log API remotely, which on older releases needs SAP note 3054326 and a different integration-package configuration.published 2024-12-17
Migrate your code with UI5 linter – Autofix has landedMigrate your code with UI5 linter – Autofix has landedUI5 linter v1.12.0 adds an initial autofix, reached with ui5lint --fix, and the post walks through it end to end: the tool first reports a deprecated global reference (sap.ui.model.json.JSONModel), then the fix rewrites it into the equivalent module import and local variable. This first version only handles that one class of deprecation — replacing deprecated globals with imports — with more fix types left for later releases tracked on the tool's GitHub roadmap.published 2025-03-19
Migrating from Application Logging Service to Cloud LoggingMigrating from Application Logging Service to Cloud LoggingWalks through migrating from SAP Application Logging service for SAP BTP to SAP Cloud Logging on Cloud Foundry: sizing instances against the two services' quota and retention differences, running both bound in parallel for a week so no logs are lost, adjusting the Java and Node.js logging libraries' custom-field configuration so entries reach both, setting up SAML sign-on through IAS, and deprovisioning the old instance once Cloud Logging is confirmed to receive everything. Superseded by a newer version of this post; the quota math, custom-field steps and deprovisioning sequence here still hold.bill_keyes, published 2023-12-19

Migrating Your CAP Applications from SAP Web IDE to SAP Business Application StudioMigrating Your CAP Applications from SAP Web IDE to SAP Business Application StudioA migration checklist, and a reminder of how much of a CAP project used to be editor-specific: Web IDE configuration files to delete, a build to move to the Cloud MTA Build Tool, a CAP Java version to raise. Migration Journey from MuleSoft to SAP Integration Suite (CI)Migration Journey from MuleSoft to SAP Integration Suite (CI)Maps MuleSoft Anypoint's error handling onto SAP Integration Suite: the Global Error Handler and MuleSoft's built-in retries become Exception Subprocesses with scripted Groovy retry logic or JMS-based retry, since Cloud Integration has no automatic equivalent. MuleSoft's searchable logger text becomes Content Modifier headers and Groovy-scripted Message Log entries, correlated by application message ID and correlation ID for traceability across complex interfaces. The mapping is drawn from the author's own migration project across assessment, development and validation phases, and is explicitly flagged as not an SAP- or MuleSoft-approved design.Shailaja, published 2025-09-21

The framework loads entity configuration, extracts the request context, fetches and transforms backend data into the target entity shape, and returns it through the RAP response object, with field mapping and conversion exits left for each subclass to fill in.AnslemArnolda, published 2026-04-07
Multi-modal RAG Proof of Concept: facilitating tech supportMulti-modal RAG Proof of Concept: facilitating tech supportA report on a customer proof of concept rather than an implementation guide — there is no code in it. The reason it is here is the architecture paragraph: CAP holds the backend and the use-case logic, the LLM plugins and the SAP Cloud SDK for AI sit inside it, and gpt-4o is one of two nodes in a small langgraph. It opens with a disclaimer that SAP's own Grounding service is due to gain multi-modal features, which dates the whole thing on purpose.maxlienhardt, published 2025-06-03

My CAP Projects ToolboxMy CAP Projects ToolboxA working inventory of daily CAP tooling: scaffolding a project with cds init and growing it facet by facet through cds add (TypeScript, seed data, an .http test file, a handler stub), then running it with cds watch and setting a breakpoint in a custom handler from SAP Business Application Studio's JavaScript Debug Terminal. It also walks through an @open entity that accepts properties the model never declared, and reading temporal data defined with CAP's temporal aspect, where a plain read returns only what is valid now and a custom handler is needed to retrieve every time slice.vvdries, published 2024-12-23

Named-User Attribution Across BTP Subaccounts: A Two-Hop IAS Token Exchange for Cloud IntegrationNamed-User Attribution Across BTP Subaccounts: A Two-Hop IAS Token Exchange for Cloud IntegrationA central BTP application that manages Cloud Integration across subaccounts with client_credentials collapses every user into one technical service principal: target subaccounts' role collections are bypassed and the audit log names a service key instead of a person. The post works through a two-hop exchange — an IAS app-to-app hop, then the target subaccount's XSUAA jwt-bearer hop — that carries the calling user's own identity across the subaccount boundary through a shared Cloud Identity Services tenant, so the target subaccount enforces the user's own role collection and records their identity in the audit log. It walks through the IAS app-dependency setup, the AppRouter and SAP Destination service configuration the exchange needs, and states the pattern applies to any XSUAA-protected service in a separate subaccount, not only Cloud Integration.agnissh, published 2026-08-24
Natural Language Queries for SAP CAP via MCP: The LLM Translates, CDS ExecutesNatural Language Queries for SAP CAP via MCP: The LLM Translates, CDS ExecutesThe division of labour is the argument, and it is in the subtitle: the model turns English into a CDS query and CDS runs it, so nothing generates SQL and nothing hallucinates a join. New CI Pipeline Restart Extension features: supporting new Pipeline package and improved Restart JobNew CI Pipeline Restart Extension features: supporting new Pipeline package and improved Restart JobA restart extension for Cloud Integration pipelines, in version 1.0.1: a Value Mapping or a technical-ID prefix check resolves which pipeline stage a failed message belongs to, so a custom receiver IFlow copy can be linked to the right stage even when its ID does not follow the standard naming, and a Generic Job Profile restarts every scenario resolved through the Alternative Partner approach instead of only the interfaces named in a fixed list. A new RestartJobLog parameter stores each run's log as a Message Processing Log attachment, in the database, or via a custom IFlow, and a companion "Pipeline API – Restart Job Log" Integration Flow retrieves that log or the Restart Job's own MPL details. The walkthrough is concrete about the Integration Flows, Value Mapping and Script Collection that make up the package, which is why it explains Integration flows rather than only the restart feature riding on top of them.slava_kuzyakin, published 2025-10-02
New Pipeline Concept features: integrated runtimes and supporting landscape stagesNew Pipeline Concept features: integrated runtimes and supporting landscape stagesDescribes version 1.0.9 of the Pipeline Concept package for Cloud Integration in SAP Integration Suite, which the post says can be taken from the SAP Business Accelerator Hub: a new integrated messaging runtime step merges inbound conversion with receiver and interface determination, cutting the JMS queues a scenario needs from four to two, or eight to four counting dead-letter queues, and a synchronous variant replaces queues with the ProcessDirect adapter for Content-Based-Router scenarios. It also maps a sender's actual business system name to an alias held in the Partner Directory, so the same XI and IDoc scenario definitions run across DEV, QA and PRD stages without converting names when transporting between them.alex_bundschuh, published 2025-01-29
New Pipeline for Cloud Integration features with version 1.0.11New Pipeline for Cloud Integration features with version 1.0.11Version 1.0.11 of the Process Integration Pipeline package for Cloud Integration changes two defaults the post says require attention. The "tilde option", which built a partner ID by joining the sender system and interface names, is now switched off: a message whose partner ID cannot be resolved through an alternative partner goes into an error that is resolved by fixing the Partner Directory entry and restarting the message, instead of being constructed under an ID that may not exist there and left on the first JMS queue with no way to correct its partner ID header. Keeping the old behaviour means setting the externalised parameter CustomXPid_SwitchOffTilde to false in the five generic flows that call the partner-ID script; the default inbound processing queue also moves from PIPQ01 to PIPX01 in the generic XI and IDoc inbound flows, so those messages go to the integrated messaging runtime rather than the fully decoupled pipeline.alex_bundschuh, published 2025-05-07
New POD 2.0 Framework: The New Generation of SAP Digital Manufacturing Worker UIsNew POD 2.0 Framework: The New Generation of SAP Digital Manufacturing Worker UIsThe opening post of SAP's sixteen-part series on POD 2.0, the UI framework inside SAP Digital Manufacturing for building worker-facing execution screens: it replaces the architectural foundation of the existing POD model, drops the fixed POD types such as Work Center and Order in favour of POD templates, and exposes contextual execution data directly to the UI layer. The edge to POD plugins holds on what it states about plugins themselves: the large monolithic plugins of the old framework have been broken into smaller, focused components, and layout, dialogs, buttons and actions that previously required UI extensions or custom plugins are configured in a WYSIWYG designer instead. It stops at the direction, with no code, no API and no packaging steps: new execution features will target the new framework and the legacy POD architecture will gradually phase out, while the designer, custom dialogs, dynamic PODs and notifications are left to the fifteen later posts the series list names.ManoelCosta, published 2026-02-10

Nice patch SAP! Revisiting your SAP BTP security measures after AI Core vulnerability fixNice patch SAP! Revisiting your SAP BTP security measures after AI Core vulnerability fixWritten after the SAPwned disclosure in SAP AI Core, it argues SAP BTP's shared-responsibility model still requires the customer's own hardening: scope SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry Runtime and SAP BTP, Kyma runtime app access, rotate OAuth2 client-credentials secrets, and enforce MFA and Conditional Access through a corporate identity provider rather than relying on SAP's patch alone. It then explains how the SAP Audit Log service writes standardized events for most Cloud Foundry BTP services, and walks through onboarding a BTP subaccount into Microsoft Sentinel for SAP BTP to query those logs with Kusto and build detection rules that flag unexpected login countries or known-bad IPs and trigger automatic user blocks.published 2024-07-25
No-Code MCP Servers with SAP Integration Suite: From REST API to AI AgentNo-Code MCP Servers with SAP Integration Suite: From REST API to AI AgentWalks through turning a deployed API artifact into a no-code MCP server in SAP Integration Suite's MCP Gateway: the API artifact's OpenAPI spec must be version 3.0.0-3.0.3, since Swagger 2.0 is rejected, and its backend is reached through a BTP Destination using OAuth2ClientCredentials so the agent calling the server never sees the backend secret. The API artifact's own Authorization policy sets an OAuth scope and Trust Upstream MCP Authorization, and the gotcha list traces a 403 on a valid token to that policy rather than to authentication, before the finished MCP server is published through Developer Hub and connected to Claude Code.eddiedu, published 2026-09-15
Object Release State in Cloudification Repository Viewer for Clean Core ExtensibilityObject Release State in Cloudification Repository Viewer for Clean Core ExtensibilityWalks through the five release states the Cloudification Repository Viewer assigns to an object — Released, Deprecated, Classic API, Not to be Released, and No API — and what each means for ABAP Cloud readiness: the clean core level it maps to and the ATC check priority it triggers. OData $batch Deleting Records Across Multiple Tables in Single TransactionOData $batch Deleting Records Across Multiple Tables in Single TransactionWalks through implementing a multi-table DELETE inside a single OData v2 $batch changeset on SAP Gateway: setting cv_defer_mode = abap_true in CHANGESET_BEGIN so more than one delete is collected per change set instead of being executed immediately, looping the collected operations in CHANGESET_PROCESS to delete from each backend table in turn, and issuing one COMMIT WORK in CHANGESET_END so all tables commit or roll back together. The example is a supplier master spread across basic, address, identification and purchasing-organisation tables, deleted as one logical unit of work instead of one HTTP call per table.Abhi_0118, published 2026-04-17
OData Deep Insert: Implementation and Real-Life ExamplesOData Deep Insert: Implementation and Real-Life ExamplesWalks through implementing OData Deep Insert on classic SAP Gateway: two entity types joined by an association in SEGW, and a redefined CREATE_DEEP_ENTITY method in the DPC_EXT class that unpacks the header and item payload and calls BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 to create a sales order with its line items in one request instead of separate calls per item. Gives a sample JSON payload to test with Postman or /IWFND/GW_CLIENT and names the usual failure points — an unmapped association, a method that was never redefined, or a commit left out after the BAPI call.SRSATAPATHY, published 2025-09-15

Optimized IDoc Routing in SAP CI with Value Mapping and Groovy-Based Receiver DeterminationOptimized IDoc Routing in SAP CI with Value Mapping and Groovy-Based Receiver DeterminationShreyasShenoy07 replaces SAP PI/PO's single shared IDoc destination with a receiver-determination pattern built in Cloud Integration: a generic iFlow reads the IDoc's EDI_DC40 header, looks up the sender identifier and the receiver list in two Value Mapping tables keyed by sender system and IDoc type, and a Groovy script evaluates each receiver's XPath condition before routing the message to a receiver-specific iFlow over the ProcessDirect adapter. Adding or changing a receiver becomes a Value Mapping edit instead of an iFlow redeployment, and the same IDoc can fan out to several receivers when more than one condition matches.ShreyasShenoy07, published 2025-08-08

The client itself is built the way HTTP clients describes for SAP BTP, ABAP Environment — a communication arrangement resolved through cl_http_destination_provider=>create_by_comm_arrangement, handed to cl_web_http_client_manager=>create_by_http_destination to create the client.Pramathesh_t_s, published 2025-10-28
Parallel Data Filtering and Dropbox Integration Using SAP Cloud IntegrationParallel Data Filtering and Dropbox Integration Using SAP Cloud IntegrationA step-by-step build of an integration flow in Cloud Integration: a Start Timer triggers the flow, a Parallel Multicast splits student records by gender through XPath filters, and each branch uploads its file to Dropbox over a Receiver Adapter authorized against a Dropbox app's OAuth2 credentials. An Exception Subprocess captures the error message and a Mail Adapter sends it over SMTP, centralizing error handling and an email notification for the whole flow.Vurumind03, published 2025-12-10

Principal Propagation from BTP Web App to S/4HANA via SAP Integration SuitePrincipal Propagation from BTP Web App to S/4HANA via SAP Integration SuiteWalks through configuring principal propagation from a BTP web app, through SAP Integration Suite and Cloud Connector, to an on-premise S/4HANA system, so the backend receives calls as the logged-in user rather than a shared service account. The BTP Destination service uses OAuth2JWTBearer to exchange the user's Cloud Identity Services JWT for an Integration Suite token, and the iFlow's OData V2 receiver adapter reaches S/4HANA through Cloud Connector with Principal Propagation authentication. The Cloud Connector Subject Pattern builds the outbound certificate's CN from the token's user_name claim, which is populated from the IAS email rather than the sub claim, so identity resolution on S/4HANA hinges on that email matching a resolvable logon name.Joni, published 2026-07-10

Process Integration Pipeline Extension - Restart via Data StoreProcess Integration Pipeline Extension - Restart via Data StoreOn SAP Cloud Integration's Process Integration Pipeline, a message that exhausts its JMS retries lands in a Dead Letter Queue with no API to query or move it, and the JMS broker carries a hard size limit. This package, published on SAP Business Accelerator Hub, replaces that path with Data Store entries written through the pipeline's custom exception-handling exit, a scheduled Restart Job Integration Flow, and two optional HTTP APIs for on-demand restarts and Data Store management. Entry names encode the partner ID, the pipeline stage, the message ID and a retry count, so messages can be filtered and restarted by scenario instead of moved one by one in the queue monitor.mate_moricz, published 2025-07-23

Random Numbers and Probability Distributions in the ABAP Environments for 2508Random Numbers and Probability Distributions in the ABAP Environments for 2508Introduces CL_ABAP_PROB_DISTRIBUTION and CL_ABAP_PROB_DISTRIBUTION_DF34, new ABAP system classes that generate random numbers from a distribution — normal, lognormal, exponential, gamma, chi-squared, Poisson, binomial, Student's t, hypergeometric, geometric — rather than only the uniform spread CL_ABAP_RANDOM gives. The worked example builds customer payment dates clustered around a due date instead of spread evenly across it, which is the shape seed data needs to look real rather than merely present; the same classes also compute CDFs and quantiles for statistical tests like a t-test on payment lateness. Resend HTTP messages with configured pause and fixed max iteration followed by error handlingResend HTTP messages with configured pause and fixed max iteration followed by error handlingBuilds a retry pattern for a Cloud Integration HTTP Receiver call by splitting the request-reply step into its own local sub-process, which loops on the response code — up to a fixed five iterations, each after a configured pause — and routes to an exception sub-process that attaches the message processing log through Groovy once the count is exceeded or another error occurs. The design is the author's own alternative to the platform's retry pattern and inbuilt HTTP Receiver Adapter retry option, built for cases where neither applies; SAP Event Mesh and SAP Advanced Event Mesh are named only as the queue-based alternative the author considered and set aside.Aman_V, published 2024-01-03

RFC/BAPIs Meet AI Agents: Why SAP Integration Suite MCP Server MattersRFC/BAPIs Meet AI Agents: Why SAP Integration Suite MCP Server MattersExplains that SAP Integration Suite's MCP Server artifact can expose RFC-enabled BAPIs, alongside API artifacts and HTTP endpoints, as MCP tools — letting BAPIs on SAP ECC or on-premise S/4HANA participate in agentic workflows without rewriting business logic or waiting for a full ERP transformation. Frames RFC support as a bridge for organisations still modernising rather than a recommendation to build new RFC-based integrations, and notes the exposed BAPIs inherit the server's existing authentication, rate limiting and IP filtering. Running AI agents against SAP ECC 6.0: lessons from building an in-system MCP serverRunning AI agents against SAP ECC 6.0: lessons from building an in-system MCP serverNicolasHernandez recounts building and running, over two years, an MCP server written in plain ABAP behind a single ICF node, for SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA on-premise customers that the ADT MCP Server and SAP Joule for Developers, ABAP AI capabilities do not reach. Authorization runs as the calling user rather than a technical RFC user, a choice forced by a customer security team after an earlier version used a technical RFC user, and a later security review found a display-authority check applied uniformly across every write endpoint. The failure modes that cost the most time sat in RFC connectivity itself: RFC_READ_TABLE's empty-table exception collapsed into a false success, a where-used filter was applied only after the row limit, and BAPI calls treated an empty string and an absent parameter as different, silently wrong inputs.NicolasHernandez, published 2026-08-28

S/4HANA Observability: Streaming SAP Cloud ALM & LogServ Telemetry to BigQuery & Vertex AIS/4HANA Observability: Streaming SAP Cloud ALM & LogServ Telemetry to BigQuery & Vertex AIWalks through pulling SAP Cloud ALM's Outbound Logs, Metrics and Traces APIs — OAuth 2.0 client-credentials auth, protobuf-encoded OTLP payloads, and the guardrails needed against its rate limits and 24 GB/30-day retention baseline — plus SAP LogServ's infrastructure logs, into Google BigQuery for multi-year, cross-domain storage. A time-window SQL join then correlates ABAP exceptions, health metrics, infrastructure events and ITSM tickets, with the joined record passed to Vertex AI (Gemini) to draft a structured incident dossier.Rudrapuneet, published 2026-07-22
S/4HANA公有云版的内部ABAP拓展S/4HANA公有云版的内部ABAP拓展Argues that S/4HANA Cloud public edition's in-app ABAP extensibility is still real ABAP development, just under stricter rules: developer extensions require ABAP Development Tools rather than SAP GUI transactions, data models are defined as CDS views instead of SE11 tables, business logic is a RAP behavior definition instead of a function module, and service exposure is an auto-generated OData service from a Service Definition instead of a hand-built RFC/BAPI. The piece walks a worked example — a Fiori app that triggers the Purchase Requisition API — through CDS, RAP, OData activation on SAP Gateway, and authorization via business catalogues, and frames the whitelist of released APIs and CDS views as upgrade-safety rather than a restriction.ArthurYang, published 2025-11-24

SAP Advanced Event Mesh – Manage Advance Event Mesh with API’sSAP Advanced Event Mesh – Manage Advance Event Mesh with API’sMaps the API surface of SAP Advanced Event Mesh: the REST API(v2) for administering the cloud environment and its event broker services (with legacy v0/v1 noted as discouraged), SEMP(v2) for provisioning and operating a single event broker, and the open protocols and standards it supports for consuming events, among them JMS, OpenMAMA, REST, AMQP 1.0, MQTT and WebSocket. Covers how each API authenticates — bearer tokens with scoped permissions for REST API(v2), username/password or OAuth2/certificate-based for SEMP(v2) — and where to find the connection details and reference documentation for each.Nils_Lorenz, published 2024-08-28
SAP Agentic AI in Practice: Building the SAP Exception Log Triage Agent (Part 3 of 6)SAP Agentic AI in Practice: Building the SAP Exception Log Triage Agent (Part 3 of 6)Part 3 of a six-part series builds a router agent that classifies incoming SM21 system log errors and SM37 job failures, delegates each to a specialized sub-agent built with LangGraph's create_react_agent, and correlates findings across both logs into a single severity score and escalation list. State moves through a typed dict shared between the router and its sub-agents, with tools that query SAP HANA tables directly; a reactive on-demand mode sits alongside a scheduled monitoring loop that compares error counts to a baseline and escalates automatically past a threshold. The router-plus-sub-agent split carries forward to Part 6, where the same router coordinates the assessment agents built in the series' other parts.DEEPA_DORAIRAJ, published 2026-04-06
SAP AI Services - DOX - Gen AI with SAP CAP Plugin - Part 3SAP AI Services - DOX - Gen AI with SAP CAP Plugin - Part 3Building on Reusable components for CAP with cds-plugin by Daniel Schlachter, this part walks through a custom CAP plugin — a cds-plugin.js plus a lib_cap_dox.js helper — that authenticates against SAP's Document Information Extraction (DOX) service and calls its schema and job-status APIs to fill an entity from extracted document fields. It covers reading the service key from Cloud Foundry (cf service-key) for the OAuth token endpoint, and dynamically mapping DOX's header and line-item output onto CAP entity properties.sabarna17, published 2024-06-11
SAP API Management for Beginners – Part 1: What Is APIM & A Complete Features TourSAP API Management for Beginners – Part 1: What Is APIM & A Complete Features TourA features tour of SAP Integration Suite's API Management capability, opening a five-part beginner series: what a governed API proxy adds over calling a backend directly, and a walkthrough of API Providers, Proxy and Target Endpoints, the Policy Editor and Policy Templates, Products, the Developer Hub, and Key Value Maps. It names rate limiting's two complementary policies as APIM implements them: Spike Arrest, which caps requests per second or minute against bursts, and Quota, which caps total calls per day, week or month against overuse.Rudhra, published 2026-08-03

It places Spike Arrest and Quota on the ProxyEndpoint PreFlow, each with its policy XML and a Postman test, distinguishing per-second burst throttling from a daily call cap read from the API Product's own limit.Rudhra, published 2026-08-24
SAP API ManagementのアクセスログをSAP Cloud Loggingで可視化する方法SAP API ManagementのアクセスログをSAP Cloud Loggingで可視化する方法In Japanese. API Management's own screens show call counts but not the individual request log — no audit trail, no header or IP detail, which leaves auth failures hard to diagnose. The author's fix is an API Policy that builds a structured log entry with AssignMessage and forwards it through a syslog drain to SAP Cloud Logging, and confirms the ingest endpoint works by PUTting a test message to it directly with Postman before wiring the policy.yasuyukiuno, published 2025-09-24
SAP BTP - CI - Building Open-Source Custom Adapter EventSmartKafka from Zero with SAP ADK - Part IISAP BTP - CI - Building Open-Source Custom Adapter EventSmartKafka from Zero with SAP ADK - Part IIPart II of a series on EventSmartKafka, an open-source Kafka adapter for Cloud Integration in SAP Integration Suite built with the SAP Adapter Development Kit, walks through the runtime behind a custom adapter: how metadata.xml's fields map onto Java Endpoint properties, how the Component class creates the Endpoint, and how the Consumer's doStart() and doPoll() poll Apache Kafka, convert Avro payloads and dispatch the record into the iFlow pipeline. Its central point is that the Kafka offset must be committed only after the pipeline has processed the message successfully, with a worked table of which failure scenarios (missing Confluent magic byte, invalid schema ID, payload over the configured limit) withhold the commit versus let it through, to avoid poison-pill loops and silent message loss. The adapter is published as a community demo and not SAP-certified or production-validated; Part III covers building the SAP ADK project itself.rhviana, published 2026-06-03
SAP BTP - CI - EventSmartKafka - Custom Kafka Adapter - Part V FINALSAP BTP - CI - EventSmartKafka - Custom Kafka Adapter - Part V FINALEventSmartKafka is an open-source Kafka Consumer/Sender adapter for SAP Cloud Integration in SAP Integration Suite, built with the SAP Adapter Development Kit; it reaches Apache Kafka over SASL, SASL_SSL and mutual TLS, with on-premise brokers reached through Cloud Connector. This final release adds Avro-to-JSON/XML conversion, schema registry integration, message recovery by timestamp and Kafka producer support. The author reports the consumer validated past 6.5 million processed messages with zero failures and the producer run continuously for more than 20 hours, with deployment lifecycle testing — deleting, upgrading and redeploying the adapter — showing no runtime interruption.rhviana, published 2026-07-28

The v1.1.0 release adds mutual TLS client-certificate authentication against the broker, fixes an OSGi classloader bug where a redeployed bundle's static registry lost track of a still-open relay socket from the previous classloader (fixed with a JVM-wide System-property registry instead), replaces infinite retry loops on fatal configuration errors with a fail-fast stop, corrects two offset-handling bugs in timestamp-based message recovery, adds a parallel-consumer option, and drops a planned OAuth2 strategy because no tier of the tested broker services (Confluent Cloud, Redpanda Cloud, Aiven) exposed it for testing on a free plan. The author reports the release validated across 3,000,000 messages over four simultaneous listeners (PLAINTEXT, SASL, SASL_SSL, mTLS) on an SAP BTP Trial tenant with zero failures, closing the adapter's Consumer side before a planned Producer adapter.rhviana, published 2026-06-29
SAP BTP - CI - How I Built an Open-Source Enterprise Custom Kafka Adapter from Scratch - Part ISAP BTP - CI - How I Built an Open-Source Enterprise Custom Kafka Adapter from Scratch - Part IPart I of a series on EventSmartKafka, an open-source Apache Kafka adapter the author built with the SAP Adapter Development Kit to extend SAP Cloud Integration in SAP Integration Suite past the standard adapter's offset management, security options and Avro handling. It covers the architecture: granular offset control via seek(), a security UI that switches between SASL, mutual TLS and OAuth profiles, native Avro-to-JSON/XML conversion against a Schema Registry, configurable resilience policies, and on-premise reach through Cloud Connector. The adapter already runs against a live Confluent Cloud Kafka topic in a real tenant; the source code follows from Part II onward.rhviana, published 2026-05-29
SAP BTP - CI - Immutable Event Routing per Domain with Metadata-Driven Consumer OrchestrationSAP BTP - CI - Immutable Event Routing per Domain with Metadata-Driven Consumer OrchestrationDescribes a metadata-driven "Smart Router" pattern for Cloud Integration in SAP Integration Suite: one Kafka Sender Adapter per domain reads a wildcard topic, and a single immutable router iFlow resolves single, multiple or both consumers at runtime from Value Mapping entries and a Groovy script, instead of one adapter and iFlow per consumer added. It compares three candidate architectures — a two-layer router/dispatcher split, the recommended single-layer router, and a rejected global cross-domain router — and covers AVRO payload handling through Base64 and an externalized schema parameter, and consolidating the routing logic into one cached Groovy class to limit JVM class-loading overhead. The piece continues the author's earlier immutable Kafka topic routing post and names SAP Event Mesh as one of several broker-agnostic alternatives to the Kafka adapter used here.rhviana, published 2026-05-25

The manual path is written deliberately verbose to show what the Cloud SDK call does behind the scenes; later parts of the series cover the other destination types.JakobFra, published 2023-05-23
