Event Driven SAP CAP on Kyma with Agentic AI and UI Auto RefreshEvent Driven SAP CAP on Kyma with Agentic AI and UI Auto RefreshA prototype, described as one: a plain CAP application made to react to external events on Kyma, with an agent in the loop and the UI refreshing itself rather than being reloaded. Short — it reports what was built and why, not how to rebuild it.Shahid, published 2025-12-01

How Redwood Software and SAP are shaping the next era of automation with Joule StudioHow Redwood Software and SAP are shaping the next era of automation with Joule StudioRedwood's Field CTO describes a tech preview where an SAP Basis administrator tells SAP Joule in natural language to pause background jobs and dependent Integration Suite iFlows for unplanned system maintenance; Joule acts as a control tower, triggering a pre-approved RunMyJobs workflow and asking for approval before the restart proceeds. The integration is built by publishing RunMyJobs operations to the SAP Business Accelerator Hub, securing access through SAP BTP with API keys and role-based permissions, and combining those actions into a skill inside Joule Studio's low-code design canvas.gmblom, published 2025-11-02

Cloud Integration with Document AICloud Integration with Document AIWalks through connecting Cloud Integration to SAP Document AI: an iFlow posts a prescription PDF to Document AI's job API, polls the job endpoint until it completes, and a groovy script reads back the result, keeping only the fields above a stated 60% confidence threshold. The scenario is a hospital extracting a new patient's past illnesses, allergies and blood group from uploaded prescriptions, matched against a custom extraction schema.PriyankaChak, published 2025-08-10

Enhancing Business Processes with SAP BTP AI in SAP Integration SuiteEnhancing Business Processes with SAP BTP AI in SAP Integration SuiteWalks through a post-exit iflow in SAP Integration Suite that calls an LLM through SAP AI Core's Generative AI Hub to turn a customer's free-text return comment into one of a fixed set of SAP rejection-reason codes, so an inbound ORDERS05 IDoc carries a decision (E1EDP01-ABGRU) the ERP can act on without pausing for manual review. The worked example is a Commerce Cloud returns flow into S/4HANA; the piece argues the same bounded-classification pattern fits other narrative fields — delivery-exception remarks, expense-claim justifications — where the cost of an LLM call is repaid by removing a human review step, and points to a colleague's post on the Generative AI Hub orchestration workflow for the guardrailing (prompt templating, data masking) it only names.arunmaarirajha_kv, published 2025-12-15

Improving Exception Handling using Generative AI in SAP Cloud Integration (SAP CI/CPI)Improving Exception Handling using Generative AI in SAP Cloud Integration (SAP CI/CPI)Wires an Exception Subprocess in Cloud Integration to send a failed iFlow's caught exception text to Google Gemini's generateContent endpoint over the HTTP adapter, then parses the response in Groovy for a user-friendly error message, the likely causes, the steps to try and an HTTP status code to return to the sender. A Content Modifier holds the API key and the prompt as externalised properties, which the post says is what lets another model be put in their place, and a closing Groovy script writes the extracted fields to custom headers and log attachments and rebuilds them as an XML error response. The exception-subprocess wiring is given step by step and so is the Gemini call with its request format, which is why the piece sits on integration flows and on LLM integration.AdarshRao, published 2025-07-20

Building a Generative AI-powered Inventory Assistant with SAP CAP, RAG, and Vector DatabaseBuilding a Generative AI-powered Inventory Assistant with SAP CAP, RAG, and Vector DatabaseAn existing CAP stock application turned into a question-answering one, and the part worth reading is the schema: three tables, not one — the products, an archive of the text that was embedded, and a separate lookup table holding the vectors. Multi-modal RAG Proof of Concept: facilitating tech supportMulti-modal RAG Proof of Concept: facilitating tech supportA report on a customer proof of concept rather than an implementation guide — there is no code in it. The reason it is here is the architecture paragraph: CAP holds the backend and the use-case logic, the LLM plugins and the SAP Cloud SDK for AI sit inside it, and gpt-4o is one of two nodes in a small langgraph. It opens with a disclaimer that SAP's own Grounding service is due to gain multi-modal features, which dates the whole thing on purpose.maxlienhardt, published 2025-06-03

How to enable SAP Audit Log Viewer service to collect all Audit logs from BTP Services - Part 1How to enable SAP Audit Log Viewer service to collect all Audit logs from BTP Services - Part 1Walks through subscribing to the SAP Audit Log service's viewer app from the SAP BTP cockpit and creating a RoleCollection from the auditlog-management and auditlog-viewer role templates, assigned to a user or by a rule on the IDP's SAML assertion, to read audit logging events in a subaccount. The post's own update notes that a BTP release from 19 February 2026 removed the need for that role-assignment step. Identity and Access Management in SAP: Navigating SSO Across Web and On-Prem LandscapesIdentity and Access Management in SAP: Navigating SSO Across Web and On-Prem LandscapesSAP Cloud Identity Services is the central identity interface for single sign-on across an SAP landscape: browser-based applications authenticate through SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect, while applications reached over RFC rather than HTTP use Secure Login Client and Secure Login Service instead, since those web protocols do not apply there. Making the Case for Enhanced REST Adapter in SAP Integration SuiteMaking the Case for Enhanced REST Adapter in SAP Integration SuiteCatalogues what SAP Integration Suite's native HTTP adapter supports for authentication (Basic, OAuth 2.0 client credentials and client certificates on the sender; OAuth 2.0 client credentials and SAML bearer assertion on the receiver) and for error handling (retry on HTTP failure only, with no pattern-based retry, failure queues or dead-letter queues), and that it has no OpenAPI import or export. Three worked scenarios, FedEx shipment tracking, Avalara AvaTax and SAP Ariba's operational reporting API, name what that leaves to Groovy scripting: the other OAuth 2.0 flows, gzip and multipart payloads, and pagination that chains a nextPageToken by JSONPath, which is the case the piece makes for the third-party Advantco REST Adapter.peter_ha3, published 2025-07-14

Authorization management with OpenSearch's Document Level Security - SAP Cloud LoggingAuthorization management with OpenSearch's Document Level Security - SAP Cloud LoggingWhere the predecessor SAP Application Logging service reused CF space permissions for read-only access, SAP Cloud Logging integrates with SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS) and controls per-document visibility through OpenSearch's Document Level Security: an IAS group becomes a backend role, mapped to an OpenSearch role that carries a DLS query filter, so a search request only ever returns documents whose indexed field (space_name, organization_id, or another keyword field) matches what that role's filter allows. It walks through fixed per-space roles, a shared multi-space role using a terms query, and a single dynamic role that substitutes ${user.roles} into the filter so the match is against the caller's own groups, then lists operational pitfalls — wildcard index patterns breaking Dashboards, DLS roles that also hold write access creating log entries nobody can read back, and match queries against a .keyword field being non-deterministic where term queries are exact.Hariharan-Gandhi, published 2025-11-24

How to Check Fiori Apps Related Authorization Object MassHow to Check Fiori Apps Related Authorization Object MassA structured, table-driven method for mass-checking which authorization objects back a set of Fiori apps: map each Fiori App ID to its OData service, look up that service's hash in USOBHASH, then resolve the hash to its authorization objects (S_SERVICE, S_RFC, among others) in USOBTC. The author reports the method's limits in practice — apps built on a transaction code are already findable directly in USOBTC, and the same approach resolved only 5 of 300 Web Dynpro apps, which needed a manual catalog-and-hash workaround instead.MehmetSaidDemir, published 2025-10-07

The index is the author's own definition rather than an official one and does not by itself certify public-cloud readiness, but tracking it weekly shows where custom code still blocks a move to ABAP Cloud and lets progress be read per module or per object type.patrick_weber11, published 2025-08-15

Clean Core maturity and the new Extensibility LevelsClean Core maturity and the new Extensibility LevelsSets out SAP's Clean Core Level concept, the successor to the 3-Tier Development Model, which grades extensibility by how upgrade-safe it is rather than by where it runs: Level A covers on-stack extensions on released RAP and CDS views plus side-by-side apps on BTP, Level B covers upgrade-stable classic APIs listed in the Cloudification Repository, Level C covers internal-object use flagged through SAP's Changelog for SAP Objects, and Level D covers direct modifications and implicit enhancements that ABAP Test Cockpit checks must block. Choosing between an on-stack and a side-by-side implementation is left to the SAP Application Extension Methodology, and the official Level classifications are filed under SAP Note 3578329.EmilianoAyub, published 2025-12-19
Clean Core清洁核心概况介绍Clean Core清洁核心概况介绍Explains Clean Core as SAP's architecture methodology for decoupling custom code from standard code, and walks through the A-D grading SAP uses for a single extension's cleanliness: D for direct modification of standard tables, programs, classes or functions, or disallowed patterns such as implicit enhancements; C for internally developed functions calling unreleased APIs; B for using only SAP's classic or released APIs (BAPI, ALV Grid, BAdI); A for side-by-side extensions reached only through released interfaces onto the SAP Build extension suite. It lays out a six-step roadmap for reaching Clean Core — inventorying existing extensions, setting a reduction target, surveying SAP's extension routes (SAP GUI SE80, Fiori custom fields and logic, BTP high/low-code, workflow/RPA), writing a decision tree, splitting new development from legacy migration, and reviewing periodically — while noting that in-app development is not inherently unclean and that real decisions should weigh ROI rather than follow the theory absolutely.ArthurYang, published 2025-11-10
Enhancing Standard BAPIs: When and How to Do ItEnhancing Standard BAPIs: When and How to Do ItWalks through why a standard BAPI needs enhancing — a missing field, an extra validation, logic before or after the call, or a performance tweak — and five ways ABAP offers to do it: a BAdI found in SE18/SE19, an append structure for extra fields, a classic user exit wired through SMOD/CMOD, a wrapper function module copied from the original, or an implicit enhancement when no other extension point exists. Each technique gets its own steps, and two carry a short ABAP code example.Shantalinga, published 2025-09-29

The piece walks a worked example — a Fiori app that triggers the Purchase Requisition API — through CDS, RAP, OData activation on SAP Gateway, and authorization via business catalogues, and frames the whitelist of released APIs and CDS views as upgrade-safety rather than a restriction.ArthurYang, published 2025-11-24
SAP Job Scheduling Service: Set Job Run Status with the REST API and Node.jsSAP Job Scheduling Service: Set Job Run Status with the REST API and Node.jsWalks through recovering a stuck asynchronous job run in SAP Job Scheduling service: when a triggered app fails to call back, the run stays at ACK_RECEIVED and eventually UNKNOWN, since the scheduler never assumes success or failure on its own. The fix is a Node.js script that reads a downloaded service key, gets an OAuth2 client-credentials token, and calls PUT /scheduler/jobs/{jobId}/schedules/{scheduleId}/runs/{runId} with a success/message body to set the run to FAILURE or SUCCESS by hand.DenisDuev, published 2025-08-11

How to Access SAP Cloud Logging Service Dashboards Using IAS SAML AuthenticationHow to Access SAP Cloud Logging Service Dashboards Using IAS SAML AuthenticationWalks through wiring SAML 2.0 single sign-on between SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS) and SAP Cloud Logging so its OpenSearch dashboards accept IAS logins instead of a service key: creating the SAML application in IAS, editing the instance's saml parameters (admin_group, idp.metadata_url, idp.entity_id, sp.entity_id), setting the matching entity ID and endpoints on the IAS side, and mapping an IAS group to the all_access role through a groups attribute. It also shows how to read a 403 on the dashboard as SAML login succeeding while the group-to-role mapping is still missing.Umezuki, published 2025-12-30

Migration Journey from MuleSoft to SAP Integration Suite (CI)Migration Journey from MuleSoft to SAP Integration Suite (CI)Maps MuleSoft Anypoint's error handling onto SAP Integration Suite: the Global Error Handler and MuleSoft's built-in retries become Exception Subprocesses with scripted Groovy retry logic or JMS-based retry, since Cloud Integration has no automatic equivalent. MuleSoft's searchable logger text becomes Content Modifier headers and Groovy-scripted Message Log entries, correlated by application message ID and correlation ID for traceability across complex interfaces. The mapping is drawn from the author's own migration project across assessment, development and validation phases, and is explicitly flagged as not an SAP- or MuleSoft-approved design.Shailaja, published 2025-09-21

Creating a Hybrid CAP (Node.js) Profile with PostgreSQL on BTP from Business Application StudioCreating a Hybrid CAP (Node.js) Profile with PostgreSQL on BTP from Business Application StudioHybrid testing is documented for HANA; this is the same profile against a PostgreSQL instance on BTP, driven from a BAS dev space rather than a laptop. Proposed under editor support because of where it runs, but the subject is the binding: what cds bind writes, and what has to be true of the service instance and the tunnel for a local process to reach it.valentincadart, published 2025-10-02

Don't Wait for SAP: Unlocking MCP Servers in BAS Right NowDon't Wait for SAP: Unlocking MCP Servers in BAS Right NowA workaround post with a grievance behind it: MCP servers were promoted heavily at SAP TechEd, most IDEs support them, and Business Application Studio limits you to Joule. This is how to run them there anyway. Worth reading as evidence of where the tooling gap sits rather than only for the recipe, which by nature has a shelf life.published 2025-11-27

SAP CAP Lessons Learned: SQLite is single threaded, HANA is notSAP CAP Lessons Learned: SQLite is single threaded, HANA is notA page long, and one of the more useful pages here: the local database serialises what the deployed one runs in parallel, so concurrency bugs are invisible until they are not. Avoiding Data Loss When Loading Initial Data with CSV Files in CAPAvoiding Data Loss When Loading Initial Data with CSV Files in CAPcds add tiny-sample gives you a CSV in db/data and it loads on deploy, which looks like a way to seed a productive application. The catch, stated plainly: change the CSV or the schema and HANA is reinitialised from the file, taking whatever users had entered with it.MioYasutake, published 2025-09-15
Handling CSV Data Deployment in CAP HDI Without Data LossHandling CSV Data Deployment in CAP HDI Without Data LossThe same trap from the HDI side: .hdbtabledata hands the container full ownership of the data, so the next deployment overwrites the table from the file. Random Numbers and Probability Distributions in the ABAP Environments for 2508Random Numbers and Probability Distributions in the ABAP Environments for 2508Introduces CL_ABAP_PROB_DISTRIBUTION and CL_ABAP_PROB_DISTRIBUTION_DF34, new ABAP system classes that generate random numbers from a distribution — normal, lognormal, exponential, gamma, chi-squared, Poisson, binomial, Student's t, hypergeometric, geometric — rather than only the uniform spread CL_ABAP_RANDOM gives. The worked example builds customer payment dates clustered around a due date instead of spread evenly across it, which is the shape seed data needs to look real rather than merely present; the same classes also compute CDFs and quantiles for statistical tests like a t-test on payment lateness. SAP plans this for on-premise and the private cloud with the 2025 major S/4HANA release, subject to change.kilian_kilger, published 2025-08-18
Taking Control of Clean Core: When to Use Project Kernseife in addition to Standard SAP ToolsTaking Control of Clean Core: When to Use Project Kernseife in addition to Standard SAP ToolsWalks through how SAP's standard path classifies custom ABAP extensions into Clean Core Levels A through D, running ABAP Test Cockpit against the Cloudification Repository's release status for each SAP object an extension touches, then feeding results into the RISE with SAP Methodology Dashboard in SAP Cloud ALM. Contrasts that with Project Kernseife, an open-source custom ATC check that lets a team override SAP's classification with project-specific rules, define its own successor objects (including custom wrappers), and expose a Score and Potential Score per finding through a CDS view for prioritizing cleanup — at the cost of owning and maintaining that classification. States which situations favor each: Kernseife where the standard rules are too rigid for the project's reality, the standard dashboard where cross-system comparability and low maintenance effort matter more.LBretschneider, published 2025-11-04
