teched2025-CA262
An SAP TechEd 2025 hands-on that analyses and optimises front-end performance in a SAPUI5 application through its network traffic, the UI5 Builder and its OData requests.
Four exercises and a bonus one, each named for what it looks at: understanding network traffic, the UI5 Builder, analysing network traffic, analysing OData requests and, as a bonus, initial load and live mode. The scope is network analysis — the README lists networking, scripting and rendering among the aspects of front-end performance and says that because this workshop uses SAPUI5, the others are handled by the framework. It offers its tools and practices as help for applications based on SAPUI5 or the SAP Fiori design system, and what it asks of a reader is knowledge rather than a system: web application development and SAPUI5 basics.

Description
This repository contains the material for the SAP TechEd 2025 session called CA262 - Analyze and optimize front-end application performance.
Overview
Apply your optimization skills toward application performance. Learn how to analyze for performance bottlenecks in the front-end of your application and how to identify performance problems. Find out what tools and best practices can help improve your applications based on SAPUI5 or the SAP Fiori design system. Front-end performance includes several aspects like networking, scripting (parsing and running JavaScript), rendering (both html and CSS), etc. Since this hands-on workshop uses SAPUI5, we will focus on network analysis because the other topics, like rendering, etc, are handled by the framework.
Requirements
The requirements to follow the exercises in this repository are web applications development knowledge and SAPUI5 Basics.
