cap-microservices-workshop

A reCAP 2025 hands-on workshop on cutting a CAP application into microservices, and on when to do it at all, built up over six exercises from a solution monorepo to deployment and test.

It starts from theory, and the theory is two CAP documentation pages it links: microservices and avoiding what that documentation calls the microservice mania, then when, how and where to cut your app into (micro)services, which it calls late-cut microservices. Six exercises build that up in practice, worked through one at a time: setting up the working environment, setting up a solution monorepo, adding a second app, adding a shared-db module, deployment configurations, and deployment and test. It stops at the exercises and points to SAP-samples/cloud-cap-samples as a finished and deployable sample of microservices for anyone who wants the end state directly. Support for the content is available during the actual time of the workshop event it was designed for.
