teched2025-CS261

An SAP TechEd 2025 workshop that monitors a custom SAP BTP application with SAP Cloud ALM across health, integration and exception, real user and business process monitoring.

The exercises are named for four monitoring areas — health monitoring, integration and exception monitoring, real user monitoring, business process monitoring — each worked in SAP Cloud ALM, with steps that navigate from two of them into SAP Cloud Logging. Attendees monitor their own clicks: adjusting the time frame and the resolution, reading which library version the custom app uses, which events and alerts are configured, a timeout error's root cause, and creating a custom KPI and an event to be alerted on. The landscape is prepared for the session — the instrumented application, an SAP Build Work Zone launchpad service, SAP Cloud Logging and the active data collection in SAP Cloud ALM — and the repository documents its components, settings and credentials.

Description

This repository contains the material for the SAP TechEd 2025 session called CS261 - Monitoring a custom SAP BTP application with SAP Cloud ALM for operations.

Overview

This session introduces attendees to monitoring a custom SAP BTP application. This is done based on a prepared landscape consisting of the instrumented application, a SAP Build Workzone Launchpad service, SAP Cloud Logging, and the active data collection in SAP Cloud ALM. Attendees will monitor their clicks in SAP Cloud ALM and SAP Cloud Logging and explore our latest features.
