Terraform Provider for SAP BTP
The plugin that lets a Terraform or OpenTofu configuration manage the resources of an SAP BTP global account, from directories and subaccounts to entitlements, role collections and subscriptions.
Manages the resources of a BTP global account from TerraformTerraformAn infrastructure as code tool that defines cloud and on-premise resources in configuration files and creates or changes them through provider plugins. SAP publishes a plugin for BTP, so Terraform is the CLI a reader installs to run a BTP account's configuration. configuration files, with a documented resource type each for directories and subaccounts, entitlements, roles and role collections and their assignments, trust configurations, security settings, destinations, service brokers, service instances and bindings, subscriptions, environment instances, resource providers and API credentials. It reaches as far as the platform manages account provisioningAccount provisioningSetting up cloud accounts, their organisational structure, resource entitlements, subscriptions and access assignments so the setup can be repeated from code. Deployment puts an application onto a runtime that this account structure makes available.SAP and community, unassessed: it creates the Cloud Foundry environment instance of a subaccount, and has no resource for a space or a space role inside one. Every configuration names the subdomain of the global account it works in, and authentication is by user name and password, by an assertion JWT from a custom identity provider, or by a PEM-encoded X.509 client certificate and key; two-factor authentication is not supported on the password route, and the single sign-on login is not intended for containerised environments or CI/CD pipelines. Three guides in the repository cover which resources can be imported into state, how terraform plan reports drift for BTP resources, and how to read the parameters of a service instance that are marked as sensitive. The OpenTofu CLI can run it as a direct replacement for the Terraform CLI without modifications; it carries no OpenTofu-specific features beyond standard Terraform functionality, and its issues are addressed when they reproduce under the Terraform CLI.
