Integration flows
Moving and transforming messages between systems in middleware instead of in application code: an integration flow with its adapters and mappings, and the runtime it executes on. Reaching a remote system from application code is destinationsDestinationsReaching a system that is not yours — an S/4HANA tenant, an on-premise service, a third-party API — without the address, the credentials or the tunnel being written into the application. The destination is the indirection, and the reason an endpoint can move without a redeploy.SAP and community, unassessed, and brokering events between systems is Event MeshEvent MeshEmitting and consuming business events across systems through brokers, including subscriptions and mapping application events to broker topics. Work that must survive a request, including deferred processing and retries, belongs to async processing.SAP and community, narrow by design.
Overview
Cloud IntegrationCloud IntegrationBuilds and runs integration flows that process, route and map messages between cloud and on-premise systems, SAP and non-SAP, through prebuilt adapters; available only under an SAP Integration Suite plan.sap official, btp in SAP Integration SuiteSAP Integration SuiteSAP's integration service on BTP: Cloud Integration for orchestration, API Management in front of it, and an MCP gateway that serves a managed API to agents.sap official, btp models integration flows in a web editor from a palette of flow steps and adapters, with message mappings as flow steps or separate artifacts, and runs them on SAP BTP. Edge Integration Cell runs the same integration content in a Kubernetes cluster the customer operates.
Not covered: At the runtime's limits. On Edge Integration Cell, for one, integration content is capped at 2 GB and message processing log persistence depends on the storage size of the database behind the cell.
The six repositories answering this in the batch are SAP-samples workshops, sample flows and tools, which demonstrate rather than provide, so core-only reads what SAP Integration SuiteSAP Integration SuiteSAP's integration service on BTP: Cloud Integration for orchestration, API Management in front of it, and an MCP gateway that serves a managed API to agents.sap official, btp ships. where_it_stops names one runtime's documented limits; no page was checked that states a boundary for Cloud Integration as a whole.

Comparison properties
These are the questions used to compare what the artifacts do. Values come from their documentation and may apply to a particular ecosystem or runtime. Each recorded value in the comparison opens its statement and sources.
