Process & Workflow
Work that spans people and systems over time: business processes that are automated, and the workflow steps a person completes inside them.

Each ecosystem hexagon shows its own coverage assessment. Coverage is never combined across ecosystems.

Providers, examples and other artifacts mapped to this domain, from SAP and the community. Each artifact appears once.
Only on SAP S/4HANA 2023 and 2025, on premise or private cloud: [SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition](external:sap-s4hana-cloud-public-edition) and the [SAP BTP ABAP environment](artifact:btp-abap-environment) are listed as coming soon, and a 2023 system has to leave out `ZABAP_PRC_EVENTS_SE_2025`, whose event-based side effects rely on APIs released with S/4HANA 2025. Not for a system that already carries a copy, because object names are global and two versions cannot live side by side, and not for a productive system by way of the `ZABAP_PRC_DEMO*` packages, which the README states are not intended for one and whose init classes delete and rebuild their own tables on every run. While the major version is 0 the public API is not stable: minor bumps carry breaking changes with no deprecation period, so productive use means pinning a tag and reading the CHANGELOG before every upgrade.
No license Neither the package manifest nor the repository tree declares a licence.
Functional boundary The repository publishes no licence, so reusing the files needs the author's permission. Nothing here says what each file contains, and the two posts they were published for are in Japanese.
This is HR data — the most regulated business data most organisations hold — reached through a connection that sees whatever its principal sees. Employee records under natural-language query is a decision for whoever owns that data, not a configuration choice.
No license Neither the package manifest nor the repository tree declares a licence.
Functional boundary The data is illustrative: availability is binary and backup capacity unlimited, and the model carries no inventory; nothing in it is forecast or priced. The recall half runs only against classic ABAP, because its openCypher trace goes through ADBC, which is not released for ABAP Cloud, and it expects an SSH tunnel to the A4H system it was built against. A plain `npm start` passes no model key, so the agent cannot be used on a server started that way.

Not input validationInput validationRejecting bad input before it reaches the database. While this can be done manually inside a handler, there are solutions in place to derive type, range, enum and mandatory checks from the model definitions.SAP and community, unassessed: that checks a value, this checks a transition.

- Process automationcore coverage revised
Reassessed against the graph (check:capabilities): a rule-based SAP service for S/4HANA situations joined the providers and changes the shape of the answer. State stays core-only.
- Workflow integrationcore coverage revised
Reassessed against the graph (check:capabilities): the CAP Java n8n plugin is SAP-official and uses the outbox, so outbox dispatch is no longer only a community addition. Source: the plugin's README. State unchanged.
- Workflow integrationcore coverage revised
@cap-js/n8n published by the core team. The community plugin predates it and goes further, so the boundary is real rather than duplicated.
- Workflow integrationcore coverage revised
States renamed to describe who is present rather than to interpret intent. left-open-on-purpose asserted a motive; core-and-community states a fact, with relationship carrying the intent separately.
- Workflow integrationA second engine, n8n, gained the same first-party treatment the core had already given SAP Build Process Automation. Before it, triggering an n8n workflow from CAP meant the independent sleibach/cap-n8ncap-n8nMaps CAP onto n8n: a programmatic workflow API, @n8n.trigger annotations dispatched through the transactional outbox, and a typed cds import --from n8n.independent, cap plugin or a hand-wired HTTP call; after it,
@n8n.process.starton an action or event, or the programmaticn8nservice, triggers a workflow with credentials resolved through config, a Cloud Foundry binding or a BTP destination.Makes stale: Guidance that n8n triggering from CAP has no SAP-official path and is community territory only. Since August 2026 there is an SAP-published plugin alongside the independent one.
- Workflow integrationThe core gained a first-party way to drive SAP Build Process Automation from a CAP service. Before it, starting or managing a process meant hand-rolling calls against the workflow API through a destination; after it, a built-in generic ProcessService covers start, suspend, resume and cancel without any import, and importing a specific process additionally generates a typed CDS service with ProcessInputs, ProcessOutputs and ProcessInstance types.
Makes stale: Guidance that calling SAP Build Process Automation from CAP is always a hand-written HTTP integration. Since March 2026 there is a first-party plugin for it — though the typed, process-specific service still does not work locally and needs a hybrid or production connection.
