openui5-password

An OpenUI5 input control of password type that checks the typed value against length and character-class rules set as properties, and scores password strength in a separate property.

A password field in a UI5 app is an input with its type set to password, and whether the value is long enough and mixed enough is left to the application to work out. openui5/password/Password is that input with the rules as properties: minLength and maxLength, where 0 switches the check off, and requireNumbers, requireSymbols, requireLetters, requireLowercase and requireUppercase, each defaulting to true. Beside them sits score, an integer property the README describes as a number which indicates the password strength, so how strong the value is stays separate from whether the rules passed. It installs from npm and is wired into a host app by naming openui5.password in sap.ui5/dependencies/libs and pointing sap.ui5/resourceRoots at the library folder, after which the control is loaded with sap.ui.require. Its own ui5.yaml builds it as a UI5 library against OpenUI5 1.120.0.

Getting started

Installation

Install openui5-password as an npm module

$ npm install openui5-password
Configure manifest.json

Add the library to sap.ui5/dependencies/libs and set its path in sap.ui5/resourceRoots in your manifest.json file, as follows:

{
  "sap.ui5": {
    "dependencies": {
      "libs": {
        "openui5.password": {}
