Distinct from workflow integration, which is about driving the engine: this is the half a human touches, and its hard part is that it cannot run without the engine that normally feeds it.

The template SAP ships for a task UI is 'developed with SAP UI5 framework' and reads its context, the task model and inbox API, through the component's startup parameters (this.getComponentData().startupParameters). UI5 Web Components' own README describes the library as 'not built on top of UI5, but rather lightweight and independent UI elements', with UI5 remaining 'the best choice for… building complete enterprise-ready and responsive web applications' — the component that carries a task UI's startup parameters is exactly what this flavor does not have.
