abap-code-search-tools
A backend that searches ABAP source objects for a string or regular expression entirely in ABAP, instead of through the ADT source search, used from an Eclipse plugin or the report ZADCOSET_SEARCH.
Searches ABAP source from inside the system, entirely in ABAP and not through the ADT source search: classes, interfaces, programs, type groups, function groups, CDS data definitions, metadata extensions, access controls, behaviour definitions and simple transformations, plus structures from ABAP 7.50 and database tables from 7.52. A search runs as a plain string match or a regular expression, with PCRE where the system supports it, and there is an option to run it in parallel. The report ZADCOSET_SEARCH carries most of the same options, though the README says the main focus of the UI will be ADT, through the separate ABAP Code Search Eclipse plugin. It installs with abapGitabapGitA Git client written in ABAP that runs inside the system, so objects are cloned, pulled and pushed without leaving it; with no package manager in ABAP, a cloned repository is how code is distributed.community org, abap, and reaching the backend from ADT needs the authorization object S_ADT_RES scoped to the URI prefix /devepos/adt/cst/*.

ABAP Advanced Code Search Tools
Description
Searches Code in ABAP sources like
- Classes (CLAS)
- Interfaces (INTF)
- Programs (PROG)
- Type Groups (TYPE)
- Function Groups (FUGR)
- Data Definitions (DDLS)
- Metadata Extensions (DDLX)
- Access Controls (DCLS)
- Behavior Definitions (BDEV)
- Simple Transformations (XSLT)
- Structures (STRU) --> ABAP 7.50
- Database Tables (DTAB) --> ABAP 7.52
The search is done entirely via ABAP (as opposed to the ADT Source Search). There is an option to run the search in parallel for better performance
Search features
Search can be done via normal String search or with Regular Expressions. If supported by the system it is also possible to activate PCRE (Perl Compatible Regular Expressions)
UI
You can execute the search via report ZADCOSET_SEARCH, where most of the options are available as well, but the main focus of the UI will be ADT (see ABAP Code Search).

Supported Databases at branch nw-740
A certain part of the implementation for the ABAP releases 7.40 and 7.50 uses ADBC (ABAP Database Connectivity).
Only the following databases are supported at the moment:
- Oracle
- SAP HANA
- Microsoft SQL Server
