Cataloguing and lineage
Finding what data exists across the estate and what it promises — catalogs and data products, the contract a consumer can rely on, where a field came from, and what a column actually contains once you profile it. The question asked before modelling starts and again when somebody asks where a number came from.
Overview
Present, not yet described.
Not covered: At the boundary of each product's own catalog. A data product discoverable in one tenant is not thereby discoverable from another, and lineage stops where the pipeline leaves the tool that recorded it.
No page has been checked that states the core's intent across the products this spans, so what_core_does is left empty rather than assembled from several. SAP's answer here is a product rather than a service you bind, and the products are now entries — Datasphere, Analytics Cloud, Business Data Cloud and HANA Cloud as BTP services, BW/4HANA as an external because it is installed rather than subscribed. Both sides of this assessment are artifacts.
MCP servers and skills that reach into Business Data Cloud and Datasphere: contract-first discovery through ORD and CSN checks, publishing Databricks Delta shares as data products with ORD or CSN metadata, and catalog, lineage and column-profiling access to a Datasphere tenant.
