vscode-tabl-ddic

A VS Code extension that registers .tabl.ddic files, the DDIC DDL form of an ABAP table definition, as a language of their own with a TextMate grammar for syntax highlighting, and nothing more.

Without a language registered for the file extension, a .tabl.ddic file opens in VS Code as plain text, with define table, the abap.* built-in types and the @AbapCatalog annotations all rendered the same. This registers .tabl.ddic as a language of its own, abap.ddic, and binds a TextMate grammar to it under the scope source.ddic. The manifest contributes that language and that grammar and nothing more: no completion, no validation, no connection to a system. What the grammar is written against is the example the repository ships and runs its snapshot test over, examples/zdemo_syntax.tabl.ddic, which covers key fields, foreign key and value help clauses, quantity and unit references, includes, namespaced types and line and block comments; the README names SAP's ABAP documentation for DEFINE TABLE as the reference for that syntax.

Conditions

PracticalFunctional boundary

It declares a VS Code engine and binds to the .tabl.ddic file extension, so it does nothing for a table definition opened in another editor, or read from a system rather than from a file on disk.
