A standalone, ready-to-use web application for enterprise content, with file and folder management, viewers, versioning and status, over SAP's own repository or a CMIS-compliant one.
SAP Document Management service, application option is, in SAP's words, "a standalone, ready-to-use web application that provides document management capabilities for your enterprise content" — a finished application to open and use, unlike SAP Document Management service, integration optionSAP Document Management service, integration optionA BTP service of APIs and a reusable UI5 component for adding document management, with folders, versions and status, to a business application over SAP's repository or a CMIS-compliant one.sap official, btp, which hands a developer APIs and an embeddable UI5 component to build a document management layer into an application of their own. It creates, edits, downloads and deletes files and folders with breadcrumb navigation, moves and copies them within the repository hierarchy, views images, PDFs and vector graphics in built-in viewers, edits basic document attributes and folder properties, sorts document lists by attribute, and creates versions of a file with status management to guard against unintentional changes. The documents live either in the Document Management Service Repository Option or in a CMIS-compliant on-premise or cloud repository the customer connects, and an internal repository can be onboarded with encryption under keys the customer controls.
