SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry Runtime
The Cloud Foundry runtime of SAP BTP: memory for applications in a Cloud Foundry org, run from SAP's Java, Node.js and Python buildpacks or community buildpacks and managed with the standard Cloud Foundry tools.
SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry Runtime is where an application runs when a BTP subaccount uses the Cloud Foundry environment. An org is created in that environment, the plan gives it runtime memory in gigabytes, and applications run from SAP's Java, Node.js and Python buildpacks or from community buildpacks for PHP, Ruby and Go. Applications are started, stopped, scaled and configured with the standard Cloud Foundry tools, SAP BTP's web-based administration user interface and dev-ops capabilities; orgs and spaces are created and deleted there too, with their members and space quota plans. Messaging, persistence and the other things an application binds to are separate BTP services. SAP's tutorials for it build and deploy CAP applications in Node.js and Java, and its samples include SAP-samples/cap-sflightSAP-samples/cap-sflightA travel-booking reference application built with CAP and SAP Fiori elements, whose same UIs run against a Node.js and a Java backend so the two stacks can be compared directly.sap official, cap.

Part 8 of a Japanese-language series deploys the Python backend and SAPUI5 chat UI built in earlier parts to SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry Runtime: the backend's manifest.yaml declares its buildpack, memory and start command for cf push, while the UI's MTA project is built with mbt build and uploaded with cf deploy, then has its ENDPOINT constant repointed at the live API's route. It closes with adding the deployed HTML5 app to SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition through Channel Manager's content sync, Content Explorer and a new Site Directory site.Ryota_Ito, published 2025-06-16Ryota_Ito, SAP Community
